Say hello to an unusual monster in ‘Ghoul School’
I have read a few Halloween books in my life. Most of them try to be scary, or at least have some frightening moments. This is true of most Halloween specials and movies that come out each year too. So when I heard of Ghoul School I thought it would follow this pattern. It was not what I expected it to be. I was able to read a digital copy of this book and this is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Ghoul School here:
Bea A. Fraid goes to an all-ghoul school where students learn how to make haunted houses, paint terrifying pictures, and eat lady fingers and spare ribs for lunch. But Bea doesn’t want to be scary; she wants to dance and sing and tell jokes, which frequently lands her in the principal’s office. Find out how Bea becomes the scariest ghoul of all in this delightful Halloween caper for kids.
I was rather surprised by Ghoul School. It tells the story of a monster who wishes to be take a different path in life. Rather than be scary of frightening she prefers to make people laugh. It looks like her jokes do scare some of her classmates and teachers though. This was a funny story and delivered a wonderful message which is that is it alright to be different. In the end, this could be the very thing that makes you special. If you want to learn more about Ghoul School click on this website.
