Patriots Day does an amazing job telling all sides of this amazing story
I don’t remember much about the Boston Marathon bombing. Yet I do remember how much it shook this nation. It was one of the worst tragedies in years. Patriots Day is a film that wants to tells all sides of this story to audiences. I was able to see it this week and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Patriots Day here:
Tragedy strikes on April 15, 2013, when two bombs explode during the Boston Marathon. In the aftermath of the attack, police Sgt. Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg), FBI Special Agent Richard DesLauriers (Kevin Bacon) and Commissioner Ed Davis (John Goodman) join courageous survivors, first responders and other investigators in a race against the clock to hunt down the suspects and bring them to justice.
I really enjoyed Patriots Day. The cast is amazing, with everyone giving so much to their roles. This film also has a few surprises happen along the way that had me on the edge of my seat. It is not a perfect film though. There are a number of scenes that drag on, and a few that don’t seem to fit into this film that well. Patriots Day gets 7/10. The way they chose to tell this story works pretty well for the most part. There is a lot going on, yet most of it has an important part to play in this narrative. There is action, drama and plenty of suspense. Even though this film has some minor flaws it is definitely worth seeing this weekend.
Patriots Day comes out tomorrow. You can follow this movie on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
