Suicide Squad is the DC film fans have been waiting to see

Fans have been waiting years for a Suicide Squad live action film. In 2014 they sort of got their wish with Batman: Assault on Arkham but they wanted more. In February 2009 Warner Bros Pictures said a Suicide Squad film was in development. Yet it wasn’t until 2015 at San Diego Comic Con that the first trailer was finally released. Some people hated it but most loved it with the great costumes, its dark tone and some surprise appearances. I have been watching this movie closely and each trailer has only made me more excited to see it. I was able to see the movie earlier this week and here is my take on it.

Intelligence officer Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) decides to assemble a team of dangerous, incarcerated supervillains for a top-secret mission. Figuring it has nothing to lose, the U.S. government supplies weapons to Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) and other despicable inmates. Dubbed the Suicide Squad, the united criminals must defeat a mysterious and powerful entity while contending with the antics of the diabolical Joker (Jared Leto).

I really liked Suicide Squad. The cast is a perfect match, everyone plays their role wonderfully and each brings their own version of these characters. The plot was clever and they found a way to keep it a secret which is a feat in its own these days. This was also one of the best soundtracks I have heard in a long time, especially in a DC movie. The last time I heard so many songs from bands I like was in Batman Forever. The songs come from many different genres but they help make the scene they are in something special. There are a few surprise appearances in Suicide Squad which for me was a real treat to behold. This film may not be liked by every fan but most will leave satisfied and eager to see what is coming next. I give Suicide Squad 8/10. It has great special effects, a few cool twists and turns and has plenty of things for fans to enjoy. Most of the time this movie is pumping and going fast but it knows when to slow down to build a story that it a true pleasure to watch unfold. In the final scenes we find out who the real bad guy is and many people won’t see it coming. Overall a well written DC film that does a really good job bringing this story to the big screen.
