The Holidays have come in ‘The Magic Box’
I had my doubts about Single Parents at first. I wasn’t that impressed by the pilot, and had a feeling this show wouldn’t last long. When I heard about ‘The Magic Box’ I decided to give this show another chance. It was the holiday episode and sounded pretty good to me. I was able to watch a screener of this episode and this is my thoughts on it.
You can read the premise for ‘The Magic Box’ here:
When Owen shows up unexpectedly on Christmas Eve with a gift for Angie, she desperately seeks out help from Will finding a present for Owen last minute. While doing so, Angie learns how bad Will is at giving Sophie good Christmas presents, or so it seems. While Graham begins to doubt the existence of Santa Claus altogether, the group worries Miggy may still believe in him. Meanwhile, Douglas invites Poppy, who is dealing with her first Christmas without Rory, to compete in a series of cutthroat Christmas-themed competitions.
Angie needs some serious help in ‘The Magic Box’, and she isn’t the only one. Poppy is not in the holiday spirit this year which is why Douglas invites her to celebrate with him and his daughters with the hopes it will get her out of her funk. This episode had a good holiday message and there were a few pretty funny moments too. It was certainly better than the pilot and gives me some hope for this show.
