About Craig Heimbuch
is the Senior Editor of Barefoot Proximity, a Cincinnati-based digital agency in the BBDO/Proximity network. He is an award-winning journalist, writer, editor and author of two travel-themed memoirs. His first book, Chasing Oliver Hazard Perry (Clerisy, 2010) chronicled his journeys to explore the history of the War of 1812 in and around the Great Lakes and was named the Best Non-Fiction book of 2010 by the Great Lakes Booksellers Association. Described by New York Times Review of Books contributor and former Esquire fiction editor Will Blythe as “exactly what American travel writing needs,” his next book, “And Now We Shall Do Manly Things” (HarperCollins 2012) follows his travels from the deep Midwest to Coastal Maine as he spends a year learning to hunt in order to better relate to the men of his large, Midwestern family.
