This comment by Erin on the post My Wife and I Live In a Tiny Home
Mike, I am not totally sure I could do this to the same degree you and your wife have, but I most certainly get the appeal. Living more simply, not letting all that stuff get in the way of what really matters… When you have a ton of stuff, it takes a lot of time and energy to take care of that “stuff”. After awhile, after having accumulated so much “stuff”, sometimes I just look at it and wonder why I even have so much “stuff”. So while I am also working on downsizing some “stuff” right now, I’d miss running water too much to go the depths you have. But I hope you give us an update on how it’s going.

Question of the Day:
Does our need to accumulate stuff get in the way of having a meaningful life and lasting love?

There is no doubt that “he who dies with the most toys wins” is a bunch of malarkey. You can also cannot take it with you so what is the point? Simplifying one’s life is a very good strategy for reducing stress and increasing peace. It also leave more time for meaning and love and engaging in great and satisfying relationships. How much is enough is the key question. To each his/her own, but clearly, wisdom is erring on the side of less is more.
