A lot of men don’t leave home until they’re a lot older these days. You can blame it on a multitude of things, but it doesn’t really matter. There is only one truth at the end of the day. You will eventually need to move out and survive on your own.
If you’re like other young men without a better half you’ll want a stylish bachelor pad. You need to watch out because it’s easy to get wrong. It might end up having the opposite effect you intended. Here are a few essential things to sort out.
1. Your Home Needs a Stunning Entry
When you’re talking to real estate agents tell them you want a home with a lovely entry. It will be the first thing everyone sees when they walk through your door, so it should be pretty easy to blow them away.
A lot of women are scared of what they’ll find when walking into a bachelor pad. If they see coat racks and a mirror you’ll come across as a grownup, which will work out in your favor further down the line.
2. Hang Beautiful Art on the Walls
Do you plan on dating anyone with an art degree in the future? If not, you should feel totally confident hanging beautiful art on the walls. Nobody is going to know it’s not worth millions of dollars.
You could have paid a few dollars for a painting at a random yard sale. The only thing you should care about is that you’ll appear sophisticated. Hang any artwork you won’t mind looking at every day of your life.
3. Bring Your Home to Life With Plants
Plants can do wonderful things when they’re scattered around your home. They will keep the air cleaner, which I’m sure anyone visiting will appreciate. Your rooms will smell a lot better too.
Pretty plants have a way of making visitors feel relaxed when they visit your home. You don’t want anyone to feel nervous when they show up for the first time. All of your rooms will automatically appear more attractive.
4. A Bed You Could Sleep in Forever
First of all, you need to get yourself a proper bed. A cheap one with a metal frame isn’t going to impress anyone. Also, don’t think about laying your mattress on the floor until you get to the furniture store.
Pay close attention to the bedding you use too. Do you have any idea what thread count means? Don’t get any pillows that will hurt your neck. Ideally, you want a bed you’ll struggle to climb out of every day.
5. Pay Close Attention to the Bathroom
There are some people who are too scared to use public bathrooms. I’m sure you can guess why they’d rather avoid them at all costs. You definitely don’t want anyone to feel that way when they visit your home.
It’s why every bachelor should pay special attention to the bathroom at all times. The particular style you decide to use will depend on your individual tastes. Also, you can work wonders on a small budget.
6. Thick Curtains Keep out the Light
It’s hard to tell what will happen if you bring someone home one night. You don’t want your neighbors looking in, or even seeing shadows moving around. Thick curtains will give you the privacy you deserve.
You’ll also be able to sleep a lot better too. Studies have found we sleep soundly when there is no light coming in through the windows. Blackout curtains won’t wake you up when the sun begins to rise in the morning.
You Won’t Be on Your Own Forever
One of these days you’ll end up with an extra dresser in your bedroom. Before you know it you’ll be moving in with your partner. Enjoy your bachelor pad while you still can and listen to everything we’ve talked about.
