VA disability claims are usually a long and drawn-out process that can take months or years to be approved. However, if you are an injured veteran, you need not worry about the application process. Instead, the wisest thing to do is hire an attorney to be there by your side every step of the way, even if your case seems a slam dunk. Here are the easiest VA disability claims to get approved.
1. Tinnitus
Tinnitus is a condition in which you hear ringing or buzzing in your ears. The ringing or buzzing may be constant, or it can occur at times when you are not exposed to loud noises. If you suffer from tinnitus, you may be eligible for an extended period of disability. Tinnitus can be a debilitating condition, and the VA will only consider it an injury if it has lasted more than 12 months. If you have been suffering from tinnitus for less than 12 months, the VA will not consider it an injury.
2. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
If you are a veteran who has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, you can get an indefinite period of disability. PTSD refers to an anxiety disorder that can last for months or years. If you have been diagnosed with PTSD, you will have to prove that it has caused you to miss work and other activities by providing medical evidence and information from your employer. However, with the help of an experienced VA disability attorney, you can get the VA disability benefits you deserve, especially since PTSD is a major problem shared by almost all who serve the country.
3. Migraine Headaches
Migraine headaches are usually throbbing headaches that occur on one side of your head or both sides. If you are a veteran with migraines, you can get an indefinite period of disability. To qualify for a VA disability benefit, you will need to prove that your migraines cause more than 12 months of missed work.
4. Hearing Loss
Hearing loss is a condition that occurs when the inner ear cannot send or receive sound. If you are a veteran who has lost hearing in one or both ears, you can get an indefinite period of disability. For example, a blast injury or an explosion can cause hearing loss. To qualify for an indefinite period of disability, you will need to provide medical evidence and information from your doctors, employer, etc.
5. Limitation of Flexion in Your Knee
Partial or complete loss of power in the knee joint is another condition that can easily qualify you for the benefits. You will need to show that you cannot perform any activity that requires a 60-degree bend, flexion, or rotation.
6. Musculoskeletal Disorders
Musculoskeletal disorders are conditions caused by injury, illness, and degenerative changes in the spinal cord. You will need to show the VA that you have been diagnosed with a musculoskeletal disorder and that your condition has lasted at least 12 months. Musculoskeletal disorders include but are not limited to arthritis, back pain syndrome/herniated disc disease, bursitis and tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic neck pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, herniated disc disease, lumbar disk disease, osteoarthritis, sciatica, and spinal stenosis.
7. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a condition that can cause pain and discomfort. You will need to show the VA that you have been diagnosed with GERD and that you cannot perform any activity that requires bending, twisting, reaching, or lifting. GERD occurs when stomach acid refluxes into the esophagus. This can cause pain, burning, and discomfort in the throat and chest. It can also force you to make dietary changes that could have a long-lasting effect on your overall health and wellbeing.
8. Limitation of Movement of the Arm
Limitation of movement of the arm is a condition that can cause pain, discomfort, and disability. You will need to show that you have been diagnosed with this problem. You will also need to demonstrate that you cannot perform any activity that requires a 90-degree bend, flexion, or rotation. You will also qualify for the benefits if you have been diagnosed with shoulder pain or shoulder injury.
