Olight’s latest ArkPro Ultra launch is a useful example of how hardware brands are turning surface engineering into a product feature. Introduced during O-Fan Day 2026, the new Amber Orange edition keeps the established ArkPro Ultra electronics and optical system, then applies a new three-step anodizing process designed to increase finish durability and give the flat EDC light a distinct metallic orange appearance.
The finish is the technical update
According to Olight, the process combines an initial anodizing stage, precision machining, and a second anodizing treatment. More than 100 anodizing parameters were tested during development. The company says the resulting finish can provide up to twice the scratch resistance of its standard color anodizing. That matters for a product designed to live beside keys, tools, clips, chargers, and other pocket or bag hardware where cosmetic wear arrives quickly.
The Amber Orange body is paired with black accents and Olight’s OAL aluminum construction. At 124 x 27 x 16 mm and 120 grams, the device remains compact enough for EDC while carrying four separate light sources. Its rotary selector provides direct switching among Pure Flood, Spotlight, UV and Green Laser functions.

A compact lighting platform with specialized modes
Peak output is rated at up to 1,700 lumens. The floodlight reaches up to 1,700 lumens with a beam distance of up to 100 meters, while the spotlight reaches up to 205 meters. The 365 nm UV source can deliver up to 1,200 mW on high, and the Class 3R green laser supports constant-on and momentary activation. Olight also specifies a Duv below 0.006 across brightness levels, aimed at producing a cleaner, tint-controlled white beam.
Key launch details include:
• Four light sources with seven available lighting configurations
• USB-C and MCC magnetic charging
• Dual-direction pocket clip and flat unibody form
• ArkBeat usage light that changes color over time
• September 21 launch at 8:00 p.m. ET, priced at $129.99
The timing also places the release inside National Preparedness Month, where compact lighting products tend to get renewed attention as people refresh vehicle kits, home emergency supplies, and travel gear. The ArkPro Ultra’s combination of close-range flood, long-range spot, UV inspection light, and laser gives Olight a way to address several of those scenarios in one device without changing the underlying form factor.
From a product-strategy angle, the new version shows Olight treating finish engineering as part of the ownership experience. A tougher anodized surface can matter over time on gear that is regularly clipped, pocketed, recharged, and carried around other hardware. The color also gives retailers and existing ArkPro owners a visibly different option without fragmenting the core specification set.
