At CES 2026, where artificial intelligence is often showcased through screens and software, one of the most tangible demonstrations of autonomy is happening outdoors. Sunseeker is drawing attention with the Elite X9, a robotic lawn mower designed not for novelty, but for serious, real-world work.
The Elite X9 made a strong impression during CES week, including at Pepcom Digital Experience, where media and industry attendees gathered for a closer look. Rather than a quick glance and move on, the mower sparked hands-on curiosity. Visitors crouched to inspect the undercarriage, examined the sensor array, and asked detailed questions about how the system handles slopes, obstacles, and long operating cycles. The interest reflected a growing recognition that autonomous outdoor machines are no longer experimental—they’re ready for professional environments.
What sets the Elite X9 apart is how it perceives the world. Instead of relying on simple bump sensors or limited vision, the mower uses a full-scene perception system powered by 16 sensors, including multiple cameras. This allows it to identify and respond to a wide range of obstacles, from fixed objects like rocks and steps to dynamic elements such as pets or toys. The mower continuously adapts its path in real time, reducing interruptions and maintaining smooth operation even in complex landscapes.
Navigation is another area where the Elite X9 stands out. By combining RTK positioning with advanced visual SLAM technology, the mower maintains centimeter-level accuracy even when satellite signals are partially blocked by trees or buildings. This precision translates into consistent, professional-looking mowing patterns across large properties—without the need for repeated setup or manual correction.

Physically, the Elite X9 is built to handle conditions that defeat most consumer robotic mowers. Its ATC Pro Drive System integrates four-wheel drive, independent suspension, and rear-wheel steering to maintain stability on uneven terrain and steep slopes. During Pepcom demonstrations, this rugged design became a focal point, as attendees examined how the mower balances power and control across challenging ground.
Edge trimming—long a weak spot for autonomous mowers—has also been rethought. The Elite X9’s EdgeZero™ cutting system allows it to cut cleanly along walls, fences, and boundaries, minimizing the need for manual trimming. By completing each mowing pass before turning, the mower leaves cleaner edges and a more uniform finish.
Beyond individual performance, the Elite X9 is designed with scale in mind. It supports fleet operation, allowing multiple units to coordinate coverage across large areas. For professional landscapers, campuses, and commercial properties, this opens the door to reduced labor demands, predictable maintenance schedules, and more efficient site management.
At CES 2026, the Sunseeker Elite X9 doesn’t feel like a glimpse of a distant future. Judging by the attention it received at Pepcom and on the show floor, it represents something more immediate: autonomous lawn care that’s powerful enough, precise enough, and practical enough to be put to work right now.
