100 Words on Love, by Cath Bore
–
I’m safe in my sorrow. My knees get hot and sore because I spend so much time on them building a wall between me and the world, brick on bone. Then I meet you. I never expected a man to love me, one with gentle hands helping me stand and firm lips calming my hurt with soft stinging kisses. It’s because of you I’ve stopped building my wall but I’m grateful to make a start, its foundations solid and firm and always there for me just in case I fall back down again.
