100 Words on Love, by Neal Steeno
His watery eyes, the minute they held each other, showed decades of
wanting forgiveness. Days before, we arrived in Vietnam not knowing
how Tim would react to meeting a former enemy. This was his first trip
back to Vietnam since he fought front lines. Mr. Tuat was born and
raised near the worst massacre of the war. His family was killed off.
He was shot 7 times by Americans. No one had apologized for what they
had done. That hug was more than forgiveness. It was pure love.
More on love, in 100 words.
