100 Words on Love, by Danielle Peloquin
–
I hate love. I hate how it has to hurt to get better. I hate knowing that everything is right but one thing is so wrong. I hate how love and hate are so closely intertwined. I loved our love. . . . it was beautiful. We danced with our simplest selves. We had nothing to give but love. We loved beautifully and authentically. Most of all I hate how our love had to end. I hate how it ended in a puff of smoke rather than a bright undying flame. I hate how it was snuffed out by something ridiculous. I hate that our love is unforgettable.
