These past few days have been full of learning and unlearning.
I’ve had to pause, reflect, and reset.
So I thought I’d share a few golden nuggets that shifted my perspective. Maybe they’ll do the same for you.
1. Networking is truly key.
People will help you rise. Whenever you’re in a space, online, in school, at work, a convention, with people in your field, pray away the spirit of shyness.
You don’t have to be loud. Just be present. Ask questions. Make one connection. Say one “hi.”
People aren’t as scary as we imagine.
Shoutout to those who network aggressively.
2. Consistency pays off.
Build your life brick by brick. Nothing good comes easy. Study the lives of great people. You’ll be shocked how work they put in behind the scenes. They’ve paid their dues. It’s your time to pay yours.
3. Life doesn’t have a blue print.
It isn’t linear. Nothing is black and white. Nobody’s path is perfectly laid out. You can’t let obstacles stop you.
4. Comparison is the thief of joy and productivity.
“This person grew fast. Why not me?” People don’t often speak about their rise to success. What you don’t see is the battles, the tears, and the losses amidst the wins. Someone’s level 50 can’t look like your level 1. Let them be your inspiration and not your competition. No two people’s journey are the same.
5. “If at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again.”
That song line? 100% facts. How many things click at the first try? There’s a reason why the words ‘rookie’ and ‘novice’ exists. Years from from now, you’d be shocked at howmuch you’ve grown. Practice makes perfect they say.
Which of these 5 lessons hit you the most?
