You just met a lovely lady that talks a mile a minute, has big dreams, and regularly checks her phone. Something about her just spiked your curiosity and being around her makes you feel good. You may have stumbled upon an entrepreneur.

A growing amount of women are following their passions, and learning to create businesses from their laptop. Who are these people? They’re entrepreneurs.
The idea intrigues you, but you are also skeptical. Where do you even begin a conversation, let alone a conversation with someone who has taken this non-traditional path in life? As a female entrepreneur who has been on the dating scene for a while, I want to share five tips with you. These tips will help guys best date a female entrepreneur–from a female entrepreneur.

1. Be Interesting. Sounds simple enough, right? When you start conversations, entrepreneurs want to get to the questions and topics that are deep, different, and contributing the world. No, just talking about the weather with these folks. Tell her your life story, your aspirations, and how you are going to get there and what you are doing to make it happen. That one time you almost ate a silk worm in Southeast Asia? We want to hear about that. That time you dreamed of opening a restaurant? That too.
2. Be Curious. Entrepreneurs are always reading, learning, and tinkering with ideas. Honestly, they kind of live in their head a lot (and perhaps in front of a screen). But, if you share the latest podcast you were geeking out about, or this book that changed your life–share that with your entrepreneur. Did you love the remake of Cosmos? Tell us. Do you wonder about mystic poets in ancient times and how relevant they still are today? Share that. Keep us wondering.
3. Be Intentional. Most entrepreneurs will think that there are 30 hours in a day instead of 24, so they will try to squish as much work as they can in a day. But, they also value their relationships, so you know that if a female entrepreneur is making time to see you, it’s a good sign. They are intentional and deliberate with the choices they make. When you come from this perspective, it makes you more aware of how you spend your time as well. Dates are fun, but with clear intentions and communication they are much more meaningful and deliberate.
4. Be Aware of Space. Since entrepreneurs are creating, coding, writing, and testing out things, it will seem that they work 24/7. For some, that is the case (If it is, I will date that person a little bit later). However, they love hanging out with you. They do like you, and it’s just that they like to have their space uninterrupted to get work accomplished. If they are intentional about making the relationship work they will make time. You may be the nudge they need to get out their head so much.
5. Be Ready to Be Challenged. Dating a female entrepreneur can be a roller coaster of emotions sometimes–with space, intensity, and challenge. They will challenge you to grow as an individual–that may come off as nagging. It isn’t, the heart is in the right place. When your entrepreneur asks for feedback on things, they want your honest opinion too. They value your opinion and see you as a partner in this adventure we call life.
