…and the Feminine Energy
You’ve heard me talk about how it does not matter who or what you become, so long as you’re a gentleman. This is my sole wish for you, boys: that you grow up to conduct yourselves with tact and decency toward all. Doing so will make your immediate world all the better, which will resonate far beyond yourselves.
Who might appreciate your good behavior the most is women. Women are to be treated with respect and kindness always. You are to honor their dignity, and uphold their position as the equal to men. You will learn that men and women are indeed different—in their shape and body and some functions—but with all else between the sexes, there’s not much difference. Thoughts, feelings, emotions, problem-solving, work ethic, belief systems, strengths, weaknesses, habits, skills, talents, abilities, passions—you name it, guys, women have them and experience them, just like you. Yours are not better or worse. Theirs are not either. Women and men are human, and that is what unites us.
You’ve heard of various pairs of things. Yes and no. Up and down. Black and white. Yin and yang. Ketchup and mustard. Salt and pepper. Pairs like this are often called equals but opposites. Each thing brings a unique quality to the pair, making the combined unit stronger and balanced. The feminine and masculine energies are two such things that are equal but opposite. To have one, you must have the other. The feminine balances the masculine, and vice versa.
As you mind your masculinity, do your best to understand femininity. As you explore your masculinity, explore femininity. All humans have both masculine and feminine qualities. Embrace them. Live them. Be them. Understanding what makes a woman a woman is how you will empathize and feel for them. If you are open to this experience, it will give you unlimited insight into humankind in general. To know how another person feels—to live, even for a moment, from their point of view—makes of you a fellow human. Not a fellow man. If you do this constantly for your sisters, they will honor and respect you in kind, and so the world will turn.
