I’m a mom of two boys ages 26 and 21. On Super Bowl Sunday in 2002, my husband died suddenly of a heart attack. I am the owner of Jacqueline DuJour Enterprises, a service company empowering women to step into their purpose, by recognizing the unlimited possibilities for their lives. As a Life Coach & Strategist and Speaker, I am passionate about helping mothers to gain clarity about their life’s purpose beyond motherhood. I am a spa junkie and enjoy discovering new restaurants and traveling.

What I do well as a mom.
I am committed to being authentic with my children and not expecting perfection from them. I have also been diligent when it comes to teaching my boys the realities of life; and preparing them for the day when I am no longer able to shield or protect them.
What I learned from another mom.
Why it is important to avoid opposing certain decisions a child makes. The more you oppose it, the more a child will tend to gravitate toward it. In most cases, if you wait it out, their decision will eventually mimic the one that you had hoped they’d make.
Lesson learned from my child.
Kids are often smarter and more responsible than we give them credit. As parents, we must trust that we have raised and taught them well and allow them to demonstrate such in their actions. Pleasant surprises often surface!
Successful motherhood moment.
Instead of opting to spend spring break sleeping in or engaging in traditional high school student activities, my oldest son spent his volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, two consecutive breaks.
Upon being informed that a fellow student had experienced the loss of a parent, my youngest son immediately volunteered to speak with him one-on-one, to assure him that he wasn’t alone.
Mom I admire.
Rose Rock, author of Mama Rock’s Rules. I admire how she has demonstrated that successful parenting can exist when you are unafraid to present and be clear about boundaries, discipline, choices, and consequences. I also admire how she can distinguish between being a mom and friend.
