We are living in a world where women are waking up to the power of authenticity, and the power of claiming that authenticity through collective expression. The #metoo movement has demonstrated that, through the power of social media, women can come together to find their voices and challenge ways of conduct that have repressed and manipulated them individually and as a group. In this case, the oppressors have been the males operating within a tightly held circle of power, that have used that power coercively and unfairly to gratify their base instincts with total disregard for the women, and in some cases men, they have oppressed.
This is a wonderful example of the power of the collective and courageous few, using the new tools of social media, to expose unloving behavior of those who have operated behind closed doors in ways that are starkly different from acceptable public norms, and from the way they present themselves in public. It is also unlikely to be the only example of groups who have felt oppressed and controlled by a powerful and abusive few, bringing their grievances into the light through use of social media. The precedent has now been set. The mice have roared. We are now in a time where dirty laundry will be aired without hesitation.
What we see playing out on the public stage is just a grand reflection of what is going on within each and every one of us, at one level or another. We are all receiving the opportunity to examine our own pasts and beliefs for ways we have either been oppressed or oppressor. The roots of these patterns are deep in the collective DNA of humanity, dating all the way back to our primal origins, when physical force and financial wealth determined who got what and who provided it. During those times, humanity saw itself as its physical presence, and using physical means to satisfy its needs and wants.
Over many thousands of years, human beings separated themselves from other animals through the development of our minds, gradually evolving to see the benefit of using tools to improve our living conditions, discovering fire, the wheel and other “technologies” that would allow us to dominate our environment and the other species. Mankind was evolving into viewing itself as a combination of its physical strength and intellect, which sped up our evolution as we solved problems our caveman ancestors could not.
Several thousand years ago, human beings started developing worldviews that included one or more non-physical beings that they believed had the power to help them in ways more powerful than those available to humans mentally and physically. However, these “gods” were seen as being separate from humans and needing a degree of supplication from humans in order to deliver their help. There are still religions today who teach this principle.
The #metoo movement and others like it are a symptom of a worldwide awakening to the reality that we are all connected, not just through social media, but through our spiritual essence, and that we can retake our power to improve our lives and those we choose to connect with by seeking connection over separation. Women get this intuitively and have preceded men (generally) in reconnecting with themselves, both individually within them self, and with those they resonate with.
Men, it is time we wake up to this phenomenon and become open to reconnecting with our authentic selves, and those we resonate with, be they men or women. At the core of this awakening is the urging of each of our spiritual essences to recognize that they are who we are, and that our essence is love, pure unconditional love. It is little wonder that women would resonate with this first, as they have the role of embodying love within families, while men have evolved their relationship currency to be respect more than love, particularly in the competitive worlds they have created for themselves, including business.
However, in order to prosper in this new awakened state, we need to align our thoughts, words and actions with who we really are, love. To do otherwise creates energetic resistance within our field that sabotages our relationships, finances and health. And to do so gradually reveals each person’s unique and magnificent purpose, that “work” which lights you up and makes you feel joy like nothing else can.
So, men, I invite you all to join me on a journey of exploring what love really is, so you can transform old non-loving patterns and ever more powerfully create your desired life, lovingly and purposefully as your unique authentic self. Your partners will love you for it and so will you!
