The incident took place during last Wednesday’s Yankees-Twins game when New York third baseman Todd Frazier hit a foul ball that struck a two-year-old girl at 105 miles per hour. The girl was rushed to a local hospital, and while the extent of her injuries is unknown, Frazier has been speaking to the child’s father and says her condition is “O.K.” Frazier—who was visibly shaken after the accident—called for mandatory extended netting for the safety of fans. At the moment, SB Nation says, “More than half the teams in the league still only have netting from the inside of one dugout to the other.” Some baseball diehards feel extended netting obstructs their view of the game, but that complaint isn’t very pervasive: Over the last three days, “MLB + Netting” has just a 12 percent positive score on Social. –Alex Shultz
