Hey kids, it’s Wisdom Wednesday, and today’s wisdom comes from Donald Lyn Frost. He says, “Anyone can be a gracious winner, but being gracious after losing shows strength of character.”
If you’re watching the Olympics, you know that Simone Biles is arguably the greatest woman gymnast of all time. She is truly amazing, and when she competes, it’s almost expected that she’ll win the gold medal. However, recently she took second in the floor exercise and won the silver medal, losing the gold medal to Rebecca Andrade from Brazil. Simone could have chosen to be bitter and envious, but instead, she chose to rejoice and celebrate with Rebecca.
She’s been called the greatest of all time for her gymnastic skills, but I personally will always remember her for her great character—the grace and poise she showed when things didn’t go her way. Well done, Simone!
I hope you have a great day, and God bless you.
