But that doesn’t appear to be the case – quite the opposite, in fact. On Monday, the Today show aired an interview featuring Clinton and Patterson. It started off with questions about the book before journalist Craig Melvin turned to Clinton’s thoughts on the #MeToo movement. He asked Clinton if he would have resigned had the Monica Lewinsky scandal broken in 2018, to which Clinton replied: “Well, I don’t think it would be an issue, because people would be using the facts instead of the imagined facts. If the facts were the same today, I wouldn’t.” Melvin pressed the former POTUS further, and Clinton looked all sorts of uncomfortable, shifting the conversation to Donald Trump and his accusers before Patterson swooped in to deflect and raise questions about why Melvin wasn’t also talking about John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson – two other presidents accused of inappropriate sexual relationships. Clinton also said he apologized to the public for his actions but made clear he never apologized personally to Lewinsky. On Tuesday, Clinton told late-night host Stephen Colbert that the Today interview was not his “finest hour.” Social agrees. Over the past seven days, “Bill Clinton + MeToo” has an 18 percent positive score on 30dB. –Alex Shultz
