“The tan Austin Allegro ’75 stopped and Dimwit got out and walked into the Post Office…just as the nine Police-Cars and twenty or so assorted back-up vehicles, and Personnel, Dogs and Stress-Counsellors, Rage-Therapists and Social-Workers whizzed around the corner, plus three Helicopters and a Tea-van.
“The radio-controlled, mini-cab-driver was immediately arrested and taken to Sunderland Police Station for questioning. Inside the Post Office, the cashier smiled at the young Dimwit standing before him, clutching his application to join the Police Force and said, ‘Come back when you’re sixteen!’ just as the Police kicked the doors in and swarmed through the windows.”
