Not content with sticking to the prepared statement he gave out on Monday, when he finally called out neo-Nazis and white supremacists directly, Trump decided to revert even more forcefully to his initial reaction. On Tuesday, in the lobby of Trump Tower, he said, “You had a group on one side that was bad. You had a group on the other side that was also very violent. Nobody wants to say that. I’ll say it right now.” He also attacked the “alt-left,” which doesn’t exist as any sort of defined group. Many high-profile Republicans once again spoke out against white supremacists after Trump’s tirade, though only a handful — including Senators Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) — specifically chastised POTUS. On Wednesday, two business advisory councils were “ended” by Trump, though reports indicate that so many CEOs were resigning in response to his rhetoric that he had no choice but to shut down the groups to save face. On Social, “Trump + Both Sides” has an 83 percent negative score over the last day. –Alex Shultz
