John Whittier Treat's novel about Seattle in the early 1980s, The Rise and Fall of the Yellow House, was published in 2015 by the Big Table Publishing Company, and was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Foundation's award for best gay fiction that year. He is currently writing a novel about a stutter who saves the world, First Consonants.
