In this tight little poem, Hansa Bergwall captures the ambivalence some men feel towards religion.

Buddha
Get out of here with
your serenities knowing
smile cross legged ease
My man and I plot
with wine stained lips and we do
not want to want less
You are never hurt
by my rejections nor smug
when I go looking
the cellar box where
I hide your statues
