My kid declared yesterday as Dinosaur Day. It was exhausting! We kept going today but, luckily, he is not making me stick, strictly, to the list.
I love seeing that spark of purpose come alive in him! There’s something about staging his own holiday celebration that really lit him up. So much so that he had trouble the last two nights falling asleep. We made this list in bed to calm his mind. It didn’t really work.
He loves the pageantry of creating the perfect event and getting to direct it all himself. He isn’t going to move mountains, this kid is going to build mountains! Love this little #authenticson ❤
I definitely recommend encouraging your child to create their own holiday celebration as a fun homeschooling activity. Let them run with it and see what happens! My son really enjoyed creating his list of intentions for the celebration, making decorations, directing games and activities and even the fact that he got frustrated about the day not living up to his wild expectations was a valuable teaching moment. These beautiful humans are fun to raise, aren’t they?
