It’s a debate that never seems to go out of style: Does having kids make us happier, or is a child-free life the way to bliss?
At least, that’s according to the Institute for Family Studies.
For instance, 56% of activities receive the highest meaningfulness ratings when children are around, compared to just 37% with other adults.
Moreover, 44% of parents report the highest happiness scores during activities with their kids, contrasting sharply with the 25% when alone.
The data suggests that even routine activities like eating, drinking, and socializing gain an extra layer of joy and significance when shared with children.

The results indicate that even amidst the challenges of parenting, there is a significant increase in well-being and meaningful interactions.
