Honestly, I’ve been pondering quite a lot over this question of spiritual intelligence. Yes, it’s a very interesting idea, is it not? I actually mean it; we always have heard of the IQ level, of the emotional intelligence, how about the spiritual intelligence? That’s a whole new ball game.
I mean, do you ever come across a person who has this strong sense of fulfillment in every thing they are doing? Like, they are not merely faking it, but they are genuinely passionate about something greater than the self? And this is one of the key precursors to high spiritual intelligence based on my opinion.
But here’s the thing: You know, it’s so hard sometimes to notice such signs in ourselves, don’t you? Sometimes, people are caught up in the daily hustle and fail to see that they could be spiritually smart and intelligent. That’s why I thought it would be interesting to go deeper. I want to figure out what other signs show high spiritual intelligence.
Firstly, what is Actually SI or Spiritual intelligence.
In fact, as far back as 1997 a brilliant woman by the name of Danah Zohar proposed this very idea in a book she wrote called ‘ReWiring the Corporate Brain.’ All she effectively said was that in spiritual intelligence you are transcending your EGO and drawing on the awesome strength of your essential nature.
Hence the question: So, what does that really mean?
Well, think about being able to tap into this well. It’s of understanding, kindness, honesty, happiness, affection, imagination, and serenity within you. That, I believe, is what spiritual intelligence is all about. It is like finding a special kind of strength. It lets people find direction and meaning in life. It also enhances many valuable abilities and skills in life and work.
Actually, Danah Zohar defined the 12 principles underlying the SI.
That’s all for definition… But what are the Those Five signs that is common among the High Spiritual intelligence individuals…
They Have a Strong Sense of Purpose and Meaning.
You know that vague persona you have in your mind of the kind of person who just got everything right? Like, they know right from wrong in the universe and they are fulfilling it to the letter, and enthusiastically too!
More than likely, they have high spiritual intelligences.
Well, as I said, spiritual intelligence is this ability to comprehend what you stand for and what counts in this world. It is like always having a guide that directs you by enabling one to be focused even in the midst of chaos.
And here’s the thing: It is not just about having a set of values and principles by which one stands, it is about practicing them every day. High Spiritual Intelligence individuals are more than just words; they are about actions as well.
They acted in accordance to principles and their values, even when such a thing was not convenient or popular.
Therefore, if you are among the people who always ask themselves why they are here or what is the purpose of their life, do not worry. This is the sign that you have some inner spiritual intelligence in you.
They Have a Deep Sense of Compassion and Empathy
They do have the ability to realize that they are not the person in question and actually be able to understand /visualize how that person feels?
And that’s a clear indicator that he possesses high levels of spiritual intelligence.
And you know, spiritual intelligence is a level of embracing other people and being able to experience from their own point of view… This is similar to having some omnipotent ability to reach out and touch spirit souls of people, in spirit at least.
And here’s the beautiful thing about compassion: It’s not a combination of sympathising for one or, merely consoling or comforting someone. It is the phenomenon of empathy, of getting the sense of what they are going through like when they are passing through hardship, then you are likewise going through hardship.
What makes the high-spirited people is that they do not perceive other individuals in terms of their separateness but in terms of an organic existence.
Living this experience they know that people are interconnected and the goal is to make everyone better.
They Celebrate Diversity and Value Others for Their Differences.
In a context in which the global society seems to be split into two categories, those with spirituality at their highest level are like the beautiful flower in the middle of the desert. Why? Mainly because they still, to this day, deeply value and respect the art and the magnitude of the human variety.
Well, you understand, when one has a standard of spiritual intelligence then he or she does not find it bad or improper to embrace diversity. You know there is no one in this world who has came from the same background and thus, everyone has his/ her own story to tell and something special to contribute to the society.
As with many liberties, high degrees of spiritual intelligence are inclined towards respecting the peculiarity of every one of the individuals.
First, they accept people as they are, striving for the fact that we are all unique in one or another way; Secondly, they know that those differences are to be valued and studied.
And here’s the really cool part: those who are spiritual in their thinking and feeling embrace the uniqueness of people and give them a common feeling of acceptance and fellowship regardless of status, ethnic origin, colour or creed. They construct bridges rather than walls, and they produce a society that makes all of us feel important when, in fact, we are.
Strong Sense of Humility and Understand Their Place in the Greater Scheme of Things.
You know those humble folks that have this aura of confidence around them?
Like I said, they understand who they are and what they are capable of doing, but they don’t feel compelled to always have to tell the world about it.
That is a small example and that shows that you have a high level of spiritual intelligence.
Well, you know that when people are spiritually wise they tend to know and feel how important but humble they are in the universe. You understand that you belong to the society, or the community and there is so much happening in this world that is outside your perimeter.
High level of spiritual intelligence does not fall for one’s pride or always have to be right all the time. They realize that they are but a small peg in a very big carousel, which is why they look at life with the abandon of glee and wonder.
And here’s the really beautiful thing: in other words, accepting the teachings of humility that come with the possession of a higher Spiritual Intelligence let those with such Spiritual Intelligence possibilities one could only imagine.
They do not apologize if they have no idea about something or in actions, and they are always willing to improve and gain knowledge from others.
They Have the Ability To Reframe Challenges and Find the Positive in Adversity.
It is hard to live sometimes, is it not?
We all experience adversities, failures, and hurdles in life which make us weak and want to give up. But people with high spiritual intelligence have a secret weapon: positive thinking can be described as the capability to have a positive outlook no matter the situation around them.
You know, being spiritual-minded is all about knowing that when you wake up each day, every event that you come across is a lesson waiting for you to learn. You cannot dwell into the much of the bad or give in to upsetting oneself.
Instead you seek to learn from the hardships and aim to move on with the difficulties as lessons behind you.
Some characteristics that are related to SI include temperance, empathy, courage, optimism, and wisdom as evidenced by the ability of SPI individuals to rise up from their unwanted condition. They realize that sometimes you go through a phase of losses only to find the gains on the other side and they fully expect that something like that is going on here.
And here’s the really amazing part: By putting a positive perspective to the problems facing them, people with high spiritual intelligence embrace the concept of joy and thankfulness, which cannot be easily washed away. They know that life is a blessing and they live day by day as if they were given a new mission and a call.
Thus, if you are the kind of person who is always on the lookout for the bright spot in the blackest cloud and sets a goal for themselves with the zeal of a detective, then congratulations you are a challenger.
Your character has been filled with spiritual wisdom, and your heart has been brimming with persistence.
