The start of a new year carries a natural energy of renewal — a chance to turn the page and reimagine what’s possible. While January often inspires fresh starts, the truth is, new beginnings can happen at any moment — when you close one chapter and step into the next, navigate challenges, or recommit to a relationship, a passion, or a dream. Or even into February and beyond!
This year, as you reflect on what matters most, ask yourself:
- What dreams are waiting for you to notice them?
- What are you ready to declare with courage?
- What steps are you willing to take to embody those intentions and bring them to life?
Let’s dive in.
Every meaningful journey begins with a dream — a quiet vision of what could be. Often, dreams emerge as whispers: an idea, a longing, a spark of curiosity. They stir something deep within us, awakening a sense of possibility.
Yet dreams alone, without action, remain just that — fleeting thoughts. What transforms a vision into reality is the courage to declare it and the commitment to embody it.
Declaration is a bold act of bravery. It’s the moment we step forward and say, “This is who I am. This is what I want. This is where I’m going.” It’s more than words; it’s a commitment — to ourselves, our vision, and the steps required to bring it to life.
But the true magic is found in embodiment — when our actions and intentions align with our declaration. This is when we begin living our dreams, not as distant aspirations but as integral parts of who we are becoming.
Let’s explore how to bring this process to life.

Your Dreams Are Calling: Owning Your Voice, Your Power, Your Life
Every journey starts with a dream. For me, that dream was to write a book that inspires healing and transformation. For years, the idea of becoming a writer quietly lingered in my mind, whispering, “This is who you are. You can do this.”
“I am a writer.”
This was both a dream and a declaration I struggled to own. I am statements are powerful — they shape how we see ourselves and how we show up in the world.
But dreaming wasn’t enough. A dream without action remains just a beautiful wish. At some point, I had to step beyond wishing and into claiming:
“I AM a writer!”
That seemingly simple statement wasn’t about perfection or success. It was about commitment — commitment to my voice, my creativity, and the work calling me forward. It was about owning the part of me that had something to say — something I felt compelled to express.
There’s a quote that says, “Don’t die with your music still inside you.” Writing is my music. It’s how I make sense of the world, how I spark conversation, and how I share what matters.
The truth is, I have always been a writer. This is simply the first time I’ve declared it out loud. And in doing so, I’ve realized something bigger — the power of fully stepping into who we are meant to be.

The First Spark
My love for painting with words likely began in the third grade when I wrote a story about the journey of a penny. The little coin experienced life’s ups and downs — cherished as a good luck charm, discarded and trampled in the mud, forgotten and overlooked. But one day, someone noticed a glimmer of light reflecting off its surface. Curious, they picked it up, took it home, and rinsed it off. Recognizing its value, they took it to the Smithsonian Institute, where it was put on display as a rare and special coin.
This little penny was searching for its place in the world — until it was finally recognized for its worth. That was my third-grade story! I’m sure a deep psychological analysis could be drawn from the imagination of an 8-year-old girl, but… we won’t go there right now!
Over the years, I filled journals, wrote short stories, and even completed a 412-page dissertation for my doctorate. Writing has always been my way of giving voice to what matters — my way of painting with words.
Then came the dream of writing a book — not just any book, but one that would challenge perspectives, inspire healing, and spark transformation.
From Dream to Reality
The path wasn’t easy. Doubt crept in. Challenges tested my resolve. But with every word I wrote, I moved closer to embodying my declaration: I am a writer.
The release of my book, The Infidelity Cure, in October 2024 is the culmination of that journey — a tangible expression of a dream brought to life. Through this process, I experienced firsthand a powerful truth:
What we claim shapes who we become — and what we create.
Declaring something isn’t just about setting a goal; it’s about shifting our identity. It moves us from hoping to becoming. It’s not about waiting until we feel fully ready — it’s about stepping forward with courage, taking the first step, and staying the course.
Your Dreams Are Calling
I don’t share this to set myself apart but rather to inspire you to revisit the aspirations, ideas, or creative sparks that have been quietly calling you.
What dream has been waiting for your attention? What passion is asking to be rekindled? What creative spark have you been setting aside for someday?
Maybe your guitar has been gathering dust, your running shoes haven’t touched the pavement in a while, or your relationship needs nurturing. Perhaps there’s a cause that stirs something deep within your soul or a vision you’ve been hesitant to claim.

Dream Boldly. Declare Courageously. Embody Fully.
This year, as you reflect on what truly matters, ask yourself:
- What dreams are whispering to you — or boldly calling you forward?
- What are you ready to declare — not just in private, but out loud?
- What steps can you take to reignite a passion or bring something new to life?
Every dream holds the potential to become reality. When you summon the courage to declare it and make the commitment to embody it, you begin shaping a life that aligns with your deepest aspirations. This is the spark that ignites transformation — the moment where possibility turns into momentum.
So, what are you ready to reclaim and breathe life into this year?
And here’s a powerful question to consider:
What’s one belief, fear, or limiting thought you need to let go of — and what’s one bold declaration you’re ready to step into?
Your journey starts with a single step. What will yours be?
