Rousseau once said, “The union of true love is the most sacred of all unions.”
Indeed, when two people come together solely because of true love, their marriage is bound to be extremely pure and simple, and equally happy and beautiful.
There’s no doubt that this kind of love is what everyone yearns for, but for most people, it’s something they can’t seem to attain.
In this materialistic world, it’s rare to find someone who can maintain the purity of love and the loyalty of marriage. After all, in the city’s vibrant nightlife, it’s hard not to be tempted by the allure around us.
That’s why the divorce rate is skyrocketing, and people are finding it difficult to love only one person for a lifetime. In such situations, all sorts of immoral behaviors are emerging.
Infidelity, third-party relationships, and destroying other people’s families are becoming more and more common, making it hard to defend against. Some people, especially women, have even set their sights on not getting married, but just dating.
In reality, there are cases where people, even after reaching marriageable age, still don’t get married and instead continue to be someone else’s mistress.
Ms. Wang is one such example. After graduating from college, she never had a stable job and always thought of finding a reliable man to depend on, so she could quit working and become a full-time housewife.
In her first relationship, Ms. Wang met the love of her life, but he was already married. However, Ms. Wang didn’t mind, and the two continued their affair for a year.
However, later on, the man chose to return to his family because he wanted to be a responsible father, so he decided to end the illicit relationship with Ms. Wang.
Perhaps most women would wake up and choose a clean and reliable partner after experiencing such a situation.
But Ms. Wang didn’t think that way. She didn’t care if the man was married or not; she just wanted to live happily and gain his affection, and having someone to take care of her was enough.
So, driven by this mindset, she became the mistress for the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth time.
However, things didn’t continue like this. In the ninth instance, Ms. Wang encountered an “accident.” Previously, she was always the one who actively pursued married men and broke up other people’s relationships.
In this relationship, she experienced an “accident,” where she was labeled as the “mistress” by someone else.
In the past, she never thought about the feelings of the original partner when she pursued married men. Now, she was being called a mistress, and she realized how frustrated, angry, and even hateful she felt.
Before, she never thought her actions would have consequences, but now she’s cursing that person for being “cheap.”
This is the principle: when things don’t happen to you, you’ll never care. Ms. Wang is a perfect example. This time, she’s furious and finally understands how painful it is.
This incident also serves as a warning to us: what goes around comes around, and even if you think you’ve gotten away with something, there will always be consequences.
In such situations, everyone should use moral and legal standards to strictly require themselves and regulate their behavior.
As Luo Xiang said, many things can’t be punished by law, but that doesn’t mean they don’t violate moral principles. If someone always claims to be law-abiding, they’re likely to be a hypocrite.
Indeed, love is a very pure thing, and marriage is extremely sacred, so we shouldn’t desecrate or play with these two things. Instead, we should take them seriously.
When you take love seriously and treat your partner with sincerity, you’ll definitely reap happiness. However, if you don’t treat love with respect and even destroy other people’s marriages, you’ll definitely face consequences.
