Have You Ever Felt Judged By Your Former Self?

I felt a tinge of regret when I read one of my stories from 2022, especially after reading the comments. Regret as I wondered what could have been, where on the path I would be right now if I didn’t stop.

While reading, I could feel the Deola of 2022 giving me the side-eye 😏, pointing accusing fingers at me and saying, “You blew it”. Sigh!

I remember then that the words flowed better, but now they feel forced, they feel flat. All my efforts to infuse life into them have proven futile — to me at least.

I am not feeling the words like I did in 2022.

Did I lose the magic?
Is this life’s way of punishing me for walking away?

The funny thing though, is that now I have a stronger resolve to stay the course and see this through than when the words flowed.

Maybe I needed to walk away, to come back focused on the right things. To mature more, to become more internally driven and to take ownership.

To be honest, I know it’s in there, I just need to keep at it.

What’s the lesson?

Life becomes progressively harder the more you put off doing the work to realize your dreams. The longer you shove your dreams down, the more chaos you experience.

The only way out isn’t to bury your head in the sand, ignoring your inner voice, the only way out is by surrendering to following your path and putting in the work to stay on it.

I don’t know what life challenges you have to deal with, but in the midst of it all, remember that you are worthy, and you can live the life that you were born to live.
