okay had a lot of requests for how to
00:05
change a flat tire it’s a fairly simple
00:08
process but if you’ve never done it
00:09
before it might be a little bit
00:11
intimidating so if you’re on a hill you
00:14
want to make sure to put something
00:16
behind the opposite tire in the back I’m
00:19
not really on much of a hill so I’m not
00:21
too worried about it right now so we’ll
00:24
go ahead and get started your lug wrench
00:30
you want to do this first before you
00:32
jack up the car because if you jack up
00:34
the car first and then your reefing on
00:36
these lug nuts good luck you might knock
00:41
knock the car off the jack and you don’t
00:43
want to do that so here we go
00:50
and when you take them off and when you
00:52
put them back on you want to go in a
00:53
star pattern especially it’s more
00:55
important when you’re putting it back on
00:57
but we’ll just go ahead just follow that
00:59
for now
01:20
cake so we just want to get them loose
01:22
like that for now this is a scissors
01:30
Jack and you actually to get it out you
01:33
can tighten them a little bit cuz then
01:37
when you put it back in you just tighten
01:38
it to make it nice and snug in okay just
01:47
lower it and then you’ll see you’ll be
01:52
able to see underneath your
02:11
we’re this not just this notch right
02:14
here it’s there’s that groove down
02:18
inside that much to give it some
02:19
stability the way this jack works is
02:35
this just goes up inside here like that
02:39
and then this just fits on here some of
02:42
them are pretty oaky
02:57
so we just want to get it where that
02:58
tire just off the ground
03:15
we’re getting close
03:29
so we’re golden there now you just go
03:33
ahead and put on the rest of the way
03:48
so we’re gonna put on a spare tire
03:50
that’s really just exactly that it’s a
03:52
spare tire it’s only to get from one
03:55
place to another you don’t want to write
03:58
on it for very long because that thing
04:00
blows out in be in a world of hurt
04:31
make sure you like those all stayed
05:06
there you’re looking at somewhere so
05:08
they roll away on you that aside got my
05:20
spear
05:27
okay now make sure they’re snug the jack
05:47
is down
06:13
[Music]
06:19
well I guess I’m this one this only goes
06:21
one way
06:21
but that little indent there that goes
06:25
in some of them actually don’t have an
06:27
end on it so you you know don’t make
06:29
that mistake of having it be the
06:31
opposite way
07:37
so again these spare tires are just
07:40
meant to get you back to a entire place
07:44
to get your real tire fix they’re not
07:46
meant it’s don’t write on them you see
07:48
people driving around on them and I
07:51
think they use them as a tire but don’t
07:53
do it you just need to use it for a
07:55
temporary tire just to get you back back
07:59
to safety right and in a star pattern
08:11
sometimes you’ll have four so you can’t
08:13
do that but most of them okay that’s
08:41
about that’s about the size of it I
08:44
think you got it thanks
08:51
here’s a close-up looks like and then
08:59
what I was doing was just put this hook
09:03
inside there all right and then this has
09:10
a little notch in it you can see that
09:13
then that just went over here and then I
09:17
just tightened it that’s how you tell
09:18
you this okay
09:26
[Music]
09:45
we’re good like that right so everything
09:55
will fit back in in the trunk
09:57
so obviously this tyre is a lot bigger
09:59
than that tire so this tire would not
10:01
actually sit back in the back of the
10:03
trunk it will just you just put in your
10:06
trunk put this tire right because you’re
10:12
not gonna drive on this tire
10:14
great this monkey Tiger everybody say
10:17
yes you’re not driving on this tire for
10:19
very long okay it’s just temporary all
10:22
right thank you here is what I was
10:28
talking about on some some of these lug
10:31
nuts this is an open end but on this one
10:33
the end is closed and so you can see
10:37
that where it’s got the tapering you
10:38
want that tapering to go in obviously
10:40
there’s no other way to do it on this
10:42
one but I thought I’d show you that up
10:43
close with that notch right there pay
10:58
attention to where that notch is right
11:00
because that’s where your your valve
11:02
stem goes somebody at Les Schwab the
11:05
last time I had my tires replaced they
11:08
put this on wrong so even they do it so
11:12
I couldn’t get to my
11:15
my nozzle to fill it up with air so put
11:18
that on right there right
11:31
okay again I’m putting on the big tire
11:34
again so this one for some reason has
11:37
that as a hubcap that usually the hubcap
11:41
fits over anyway
11:49
so again as you do it another reminder
11:53
star pattern
12:28
okay just just a little snug now we’re
12:32
gonna let down the jack and then once we
12:34
let it down we just tighten it up thanks
12:39
for watching all right there we go
13:20
thanks for watching appreciate it
