I wish someone had told me the truth.
That hitting “Publish” doesn’t mean people will show up.
That writing from your heart doesn’t guarantee readers.
That being invisible on Medium isn’t personal — but it still hurts.
I wrote 15 blogs.
I poured my thoughts, ideas, and feelings into them.
And nothing happened.
No views. No comments. No claps.
At first, I thought maybe I’m not good enough.
But the truth? I wasn’t writing wrong — I just wasn’t writing smart.
The Pain of Silence
There’s nothing quite like refreshing your stats and seeing 0.
No one’s reading. No one’s listening.
And you start to wonder, why bother?
But here’s what I learned: views don’t come from just writing.
They come from connecting.
Why My Blogs Got No Views (The Hard Truth)
1. I Wrote for Me, Not for Them
I treated my blog like a diary.
But Medium is not a diary — it’s a place where people look for value.
Readers want to know:
- “What’s in it for me?”
- “Why should I care?”
Once I flipped the switch and started writing with the reader in mind, things changed.
2. My Titles Were Boring
I used to title posts like:
- “Thoughts on Life”
- “My Journey”
- “Reflections”
Let’s be honest — would you click that?
I wouldn’t either.
I learned that titles are everything.
You have 3 seconds to make someone click.
🔥 Winning Title Formula:
- Problem + Curiosity = Clicks
- Example:
- “Why No One Was Reading My Blogs — Until I Changed This”
- “I Wrote Every Day for a Month and Still Got No Views”
3. I Didn’t Share or Engage
I thought Medium would do the work for me.
Wrong.
To get views, I had to show up:
- Comment on other posts.
- Share my blog in writing groups.
- Submit to Medium Publications.
What I Changed (And How It Worked)
- I started solving problems in my writing.
- I used titles that made people stop scrolling.
- I joined publications — and my post got real eyes on it.
- I stopped writing just to express, and started writing to connect.
Now, I Get Views — But More Than That, I Get Readers
I don’t care about going viral anymore.
I care about reaching one person who says:
“This hit me. Thank you for writing it.”
And that starts with writing for them, not just for me.
Struggling with Views? Here’s My Advice:
- Don’t quit. Everyone starts at 0.
- Write with purpose. What do you want someone to feel after reading?
- Engage. Support other writers — you’ll learn and grow faster.
Let’s Connect:
- Are your blogs struggling too?
- Drop your latest post in the comments — let’s lift each other up.
