Is the U.S. Being Bulldozed — Or Is It ‘Death by a Thousand Cuts’?

After last month’s (8/24) dangerous Supreme Court ruling supporting Trump’s long-sought mail-in voting clampdown, I’m wondering how our nation can survive all this rampant insanity. Two different images keep flashing through my mind: one of a nation being bulldozed and flattened by thousands of out-of-control, rapacious bulldozers, and the other of a nation rapidly bleeding out via the proverbial ‘death by a thousand cuts.’

Then, I realized it isn’t an either/or situation. The US isn’t being destroyed by only one of these malignant processes; rather, and quite horrifically, we’re trapped in a ‘both/and’ situation. That is, the dark forces of sedition — dedicated to the deliberate undermining of the US Constitution and all the ideals the US once stood for — have grown far stronger over the past decade, until they now control and command most of what’s happening in US politics.

They are very, very good at both bulldozing and sneaky cutting and slashing. And grifting and stealing as well.

So now, the US is ‘stuck’ in the worst possible political situation, short of a direct and violent right-wing coup. Almost every aspect of our political life is being threatened. Most aspects are already being flattened/dismantled — just observe what Trump has done to the White House and its grounds — or rendered impotent by those ‘thousand cuts.’ Both processes are proceeding fast: full steam ahead.

The new Supreme Court ruling is just the latest egregious example.

Deception, manipulation, and sabotage

How did all this craziness come to pass? What is really going on here? As I read and listen to the news each day, I’m constantly struck by how pathetically naive and childish most public ‘explanations’ are — and continue to be.

The seditionists have manipulated public opinion quite successfully, to the extent that they often portray themselves as ‘innocent victims’ of a corrupt establishment and ‘Deep State.’ This ensures and strengthens people’s ongoing sympathy. Then, they use their supposed ‘victimhood’ to justify every sort of deception, manipulation, and sabotage.

It’s a clever subterfuge.

Trump is a master at playing the perpetual victim. His mastery has now spread to his MAGA followers. But what, exactly, have they mastered? They’ve mastered the dark art of fooling and deceiving the American public so they can successfully implement a series of long-sought, nefarious plans.

One of their most impactful and effective deceptions is the old, recently resurrected trope that the US is under merciless attack from within — by socialists and “communists.” They paint a dire picture of US democracy and freedom being undermined and destroyed by anti-capitalist and un-American forces.

But, here’s the weirdest part. What they’re saying is actually true; the US is being attacked and destroyed from within. But their identification of the culprits is all wrong, by design — for they are the real culprits. They are the ones truly tearing down democracy and freedom — and “socialists” and “communists” are just convenient, long-term scapegoats.

Seditious racists and misogynists are in control

To fully grasp what MAGA, Trump, and the far right are doing, we must recognize that their fundamental beliefs and aims are diametrically opposed to the stated goals and aims of the United States. These seditionists do NOT want democracy, or freedom and equal opportunity for all, or racial equality. They want freedom, opportunity, and racial superiority only for themselves and their white ‘in-group.’

They are happy — no, giddily obsessed — to restrict or remove freedoms, opportunity, and equality for everyone else.

These seditionists have no interest in an inclusive, fair, and thriving America that works for everyone. No, they want total control and want these benefits to flow only to them. It’s not an exaggeration — at all — to say these folks are anti-American and anti-equality. These noxious beliefs are the essence of who and what these people are. They and their beliefs are racist, misogynistic, hateful, and greedy.

They do not believe in or support the “American dream” of freedom, equality, and opportunity for all.

All their actions and proposals are aimed at one overarching goal: undoing the US in its current ‘liberal democratic’ form, and imposing a white-centric, misogynistic, and super-controlling social structure on every American. This goal has become very obvious over the past few years. The far-right-aligned Supreme Court has revoked women’s right to an abortion and self-determination and also gutted the most crucial aspects of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Meanwhile, US media, in their effort to be ‘fair’ and unbiased, have been missing or totally watering down the truth of what’s happening. The US is under sustained and ruthless attack from within — and the culprits are not Democrats or ‘socialists.’

Rather, the culprits are far-right conservatives (who are not in any way ‘conservative’ anymore) who aim to tear down the US, trample on its Constitution, and replace both with a white-centric and dictatorial government and social system.

A tsunami of naive idiocy

So next time you hear so-called ‘conservatives’ whining about being oppressed and “canceled,” please remember: this is utter nonsense. It’s just one (vital) aspect of their vast effort to dismantle and take over the United States. In fact, they’re usually the ones doing the ‘canceling’ and oppressing. They’ll use any method of destruction that works for them, including (and especially) both the super-effective “bulldozing” and “death by a thousand cuts” methods.

These hateful seditionists are utterly committed to their dark, devious cause. They will stop at nothing — and will do everything in their power to hinder, cripple, or kill any opposition. Today, they are on a roll and are achieving massive success on multiple fronts.

The most horrific thing is, we let them do all this. We let them get away with it — constantly, stupidly, idiotically — and keep letting them get away with it.

That’s the saddest, most dangerous thing of all.
