“AT&T paid Essential Consultants LLC, a firm set up by Cohen, a total of $600,000 over 2017 for the advice. Cohen and others were hired to help navigate “a wide range of issues,” including its proposed $85 billion merger with Time Warner Inc (TWX.N), CEO Randall Stephenson said in a memo seen by Reuters. The disclosure of AT&T’s relationship with Cohen has turned into a major embarrassment for the telecommunications company as it awaits a U.S. judge’s decision, due June 12, on whether it can go through with the purchase of Time Warner, a deal that has been denounced by Trump.” – Reuters
“The summit, which has been in the works since Trump accepted Kim’s invitation to meet in March, will be the first ever meeting between a sitting US president and North Korean leader. US officials had also considered holding the summit at the Korean demilitarized zone or in Mongolia, but ultimately settled on the city-state of Singapore as the location. CNN reported Wednesday Trump administration officials were moving forward with plans for the meeting to take place in Singapore.” -CNN
“Not only has the White House failed to fully cooperate – Donald Trump, for example, has so far refused to answer Mueller’s questions – but the suggestion that it’s time to “wrap up” the investigation appears to be based on nothing but some vague assertions about the calendar, as if a year-long probe into a scandal of this significance is somehow inappropriate.” – Rachel Maddow, MSNBC
