Life Cycle Changes
Two grandsons, reaching that age
when they no longer wanted to take naps,
and grandfather, reaching that stage
when he needed them once again.
Two, packed full of energy,
batteries totally charged,
and the other one, running on empty,
his batteries in need of a revitalization.
The grandsons, ready to stop their siestas
having reached the next stage of development,
and the grandfather, ready to be reintroduced
to an old tradition of his past.
Changes in the life cycle, no longer
calling it a nap, but resting his eyes,
something now required several times a day
as he regenerated on a recliner or couch.
A lifesaving event for grandpa,
taking in these special moments
as the Energizer Bunny continues
to jump him back to life each day.
