We are proud to announce the beginning of a new War & Veterans section.
—-
The War & Veterans section will focus on articles that bring insight into what it means to be a veteran in the 21st century.
What was the war like for you? What has it been like coming back to civilian life? How has it changed you? Has being in the military and/or fighting in a war changed your definition of being a man/woman? What does it mean to be a man/woman and veteran in the 21st century? Have you had any difficulties in coming home? PTSD? How have you dealt with the honor, and struggles, with being a veteran in the 21st century? Have you seen your husband/brother/friend/father change since being in the military?
On or off the battlefield, we want to learn more about life as a veteran and as a soldier.
The section will be run and edited by Iraq war veteran and author Michael Anthony. Michael is looking for the occasional submitter, or veterans willing to submit on a consistent basis. (Poetry and Youtube videos are welcome!)
A quick overview of our general submissions guidelines can be found here. Please send questions and submissions to Michael at:

Hi Michael,
As the wife of a veteran, I am so happy to see this section on The Good Men Project. We need to hear the stories of these men and women and better understand the struggles and challenges they face in adjusting to life after deployments, military tours, etc. The general public needs to understand what it’s like to serve your country at the expense of leaving your family and friends.
My husband has been deployed three times and is getting ready for his fourth deployment this summer.
Thank you Good Men Project. With Veterans turning to suicide at an astonishing and heart-breaking rate, with addiction and abuse and divorce rampant in military culture, as a former Marine wife whose ex-husband served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and decided to bail on us rather than face his issues, and as a single mother now raising a young son and daughter without their father in their day-to-day lives, I am glad to see this become part of your platform. I look forward to seeing how it develops. Thank you.
