‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is out now on Digital
The Lion King was a smash hit when it came out. Viewers of all ages loved this film, the songs, the characters and the story it told. Over the years the stories have continued in The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride, the Broadway musical, The Lion Guard, and it was retold to new audiences in the live action movie. When I first learned about Mufasa: The Lion King I had mixed feelings about it, but it ended up being pretty good. When I heard this film was being released on Digital I looked forward to watching it again. I was able to get a digital copy of this movie and here is what I thought of it.

You can read the plot for Mufasa The Lion King here:
Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, this prequel enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.

Overall I enjoyed watching this movie again. Some of the songs were good, and the story is a fun one to watch unfold. We see these two brothers face off against some powerful foes, and make a few new friends along the way. Once this tale comes to a close, life for these brothers will be changed forever. ‘Finding Milele: The Making of Mufasa The Lion King’ has the cast and crew talking about working on this film and what an epic journey it was for them. ‘Songs of the Savanna’ had the director and Lin Manuel Miranda talking about the joy of making the music for this movie and some of the challenges they faced. ‘Ostrich Eggs with Timon and Pumbaa’ revealed a few cool things that I didn’t notice the first time I watched this film. There was also a hilarious Outtakes reel.
