With the holiday season just around the corner and my daughter soon to be returning from her exchange program abroad, I’m finding it difficult to keep my writing groove.
Of course what do we do when we’re in a writing slump, we read! Thank you to Melissa Herzog for the inspiration with her article on the 30 things she enjoys!
Here is what I like to call my Love-List.
A—Africa. I feel a spiritual pull toward this continent. Although I have yet to go, I know I will one day experience it.
B – My beautiful, strong and super funny son. Oh, how I love him!
C – Caffeine and lots of it…
D – Dogs! Just dogs… all dogs, every dog.
E – A very special person. I love everything to do with E.
F – Family, they mean the world to me.
G – Gorillas!! I hope one day to volunteer in Africa with their Gorilla conservation effort. Cameroon to be exact.
H – Hippopotamuses, especially at Christmas. I absolutely love that song.
I – Ice Cream… Black Cherry is my favourite.
J – Jewels, and anything sparkly.
K – Kindness, we need more of it.
L – Love, obviously…
M – Speaking of love… my beautiful daughter… just love.
N – Speaking of love… my beautiful nieces of course!
O – Olives, I have to say I really enjoy them… enough to make this list!
P – Pranks, on family, friends and co-workers! Harmless, ridiculous — build a tower of random items on someone’s chair-type pranks.
Q – Quiet… I know you get it.
R – Reading on rainy days, especially rain, for reading of course.
S – My sister – she’s a very caring sister, I love her lots.
T – Tea, I can’t live without a cup of hot tea, and travel.
U – The perfect pair of comfortable underwear.
V – Vancouver of course!!
W – Winter, especially the snow, which we don’t get enough of in Vancouver.
X – X-Rays because they are the reason I can put food on the table, (and CT Scans).
Y – The Yukon. I’ve never been but would love to go and see the snow.
Z – The fact that we say Zed and all you Americans say Zee. Shout out to our big brother South of the Border!
I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know me a little better, and I encourage you to put together an alphabetical list of things you enjoy!
Also, please tag me!! I would love to read your favourite things! 💕
