Let me say, we love Nerdy Baby Ocean in our house. I end up reading that book once a week at a minium at the request of Lady J, my daughter not the G.I. Joe. My partner had a meeting in Charleston SC last week, and due to my job being remote, I typically travel with him. So when the opportunity presented itself to take Lady J to the aquarium, we jumped at the opportunity.
So we packed Nerdy Baby Ocean, some fake sea animals and travelled with daddy. Let me say this, I have been to Aquariums up and down the east coast, I personally was underwhelmed by the experience (If you are on the east coast and can travel, go to the aquarium in Atlanta, hands down my best experience).
However Lady, J was thoroughly excited through most of the experience What she loved about the aquarium also was the highlights of this aquarium, sea turtles (They have a sea turtle rescue and this particular aquarium is the deepest in north America)and divers . We ended up going to see the sea turtles 2x before we left and I wish she had seen the divers first. She was between being excited and melting down after being overly stimulated (like all 3 years old do).
We got back this week, and I as suppose to set up a dinosaur activity box, however I ended up setting up a ocean activity box (the beads were blue and not green).
Lady J was extremely upset when it was time to put the box away. We played with the same ocean them, but this time instead of fishing out sea animals, we rescued letters. She comes over to this area and ask me to set the game up at least 2x a day, today I outright refused and declared today is free play, mommy is not setting up or breaking down any games.
However, tomorrow I will surprise her and we will play again. However I am learning to set up stations and let her flow as she desires.
