Many times the answer is not a new kitchen, or new cabinets. Updates and upgrades can add tremendous storage and organization!

This is a frequent issue and question when considering kitchen storage options. Do you need to start over with new cabinets, or is there a simpler more cost effective solution.
|
If you have a fairly small kitchen with limited space, the answer might be upgrading the current cabinets with better storage options.

In my opinion, the most bang for you buck can be achieved with better organization options. My favorite method is pullout drawers. They provide better organization, accessibility, and are a much cheaper option than all new cabinets.
Different options come with different price tags – naturally. But, even on a modest budget you can increase efficiency dramatically. Pullout drawers make it so much easier to access pots, pans, cutting boards, baking pans, storage containers, etc.

Provided your base cabinets are a standard size, you can purchase pullout drawers to fit your cabinets anywhere cabinets are sold. Private cabinets shops or big box stores should have several options available.
What if your cabinets aren’t standard? These are relatively easy, for a competent carpenter, to make. You might even try making them yourself! Regardless, you can certainly install them yourself, which should save enough to buy that new Le Creuset dutch oven you’ve had your eye on. Plus you will have the perfect place for storage!

I love do-it-yourself projects! Now that it’s summer, I can renovate my kitchen and install some new kitchen cabinets. I don’t have much storage space in my kitchen, so I’ll probably purchase cabinets with many compartments inside of them. How long did it take you to construct those?
