Nature is talking to us all the time, are you listening?
When I’ve shown this video to friends, the shock ending has left them speechless for a moment. But it’s a powerful reminder of our dwindling connection to the natural world, particularly in busy urban environments.
Nature heals us. Physically and mentally a life that lets nature in is healthier and more wholesome, but our towns, cities and schedules have both real and metaphorical walls that keep the natural world out.
The deer in this video represents not only nature, but also our internal connection to it. If we turn our backs on that connection, too busy to care for it, if we forget to nurture it, we put something deeply important at risk.

But even in the most dense concrete jungle you can find a wealth of wildlife, from nocturnal creatures like foxes to nesting peregrine falcons, the world’s fastest animal. You only have to take out your headphones and look around for a second to find wildlife.
And if you’re able, get outside of the city walls, into the wilderness, to gain a sense of peace, connection and beauty. At my lowest times, with months spent living in the city, I’ve rejuvenated myself by getting into the countryside for a walk. This video reminds me never to stop doing so.
