Last week, Kim Kardashian West visited the White House and asked President Trump to grant clemency to a woman named Alice Marie Johnson, who is serving a life sentence for a drug-related crime. Trump responded the next day by pardoning … Dinesh D’Souza, a right-wing darling previously convicted of making illegal campaign contributions. D’Souza’s greatest hits include conspiracy theory films about Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and vulgar tweets in which he mocked survivors of the Parkland (Fla.) shooting. Following D’Souza’s pardon, Trump also hinted at a possible pardon for home-goods doyenne Martha Stewart and a commutation for former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. Not surprisingly, Blagojevich appeared on Celebrity Apprentice, and Stewart was the host of an unsuccessful Apprentice spinoff created by Trump and producer Mark Burnett. Questions about whether Trump could pardon himself also emerged over the weekend. The president’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, believes Trump probably has that authority, though he admitted doing so would be unwise. Social is sick of Trump’s bizarre use of the presidential pardon, and over the past three days, “Trump + Pardon” has just a 27 percent positive score. –Alex Shultz
