By replacing the centrist Kennedy with a conservative justice, President Donald Trump may have found an opportunity to overturn long-standing precedents and accomplish long-desired Republican goals, such as dismantling Roe v. Wade, which opened the door for legal abortions in the U.S. Trump is being coy about his goals for Roe, hinting in a Fox interview on Sunday that states could soon have their shot at banning abortions. “You never know how that’s going to turn out,” Trump said. “But it could very well end up with states at some point.” Most Americans do not want to see Roe go, however. According to a Quinnipiac University poll released on Monday, 63 percent of Americans agree with the High Court’s decision on abortion. On social media, netizens are rallying behind Roe v. Wade, with talk of overturning it getting 77 percent negative opinions. –Hugo Guzman
