In a conversation with NBC’s Chuck Todd on Meet the Press, Giuliani said that he didn’t want Trump to testify in the Mueller investigation because POTUS could perjure himself — not by telling a lie but by telling a version of the truth that differed from other witnesses’ version of the truth. When a befuddled Todd pressed Giuliani on this point, arguing that “truth is truth,” the former New York City mayor issued a gem of a rebuttal: “Truth isn’t truth.” Giuliani also confirmed that the purpose of the infamous 2016 Trump Tower meeting involving Donald Trump Jr. was to get dirt on Hillary Clinton, then quickly backtracked when Todd suggested that such an admission amounted to collusion. By the end of the segment, Giuliani was somehow arguing that Trump Tower attendees had no idea Natalia Veselnitskaya, a Moscow lawyer at the center if the meeting, was Russian or that she might have ties to the Kremlin. That doesn’t seem like a particularly convincing case to be making, and Twitter certainly isn’t buying Giuliani’s line. Over the past day, @RudyGiuliani has an 18 percent positive score. –Alex Shultz
