President Donald Trump and North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un joined hands in the Southeast Asian city-state to sign an agreement aimed at ending the North Korean nuclear weapons program, in return for the United States halting joint military exercises with South Korea. The Washington Post said that the meeting was a victory for both Trump and Kim, even if no specific timeline for North Korean denuclearization was worked out. “Nevertheless, the summit was Trump’s most statesmanlike performance to date,” reporter Callum Borchers wrote. Social agrees, giving the summit 58 percent positive opinions, however, there remain many summit naysayers in social and in the press. Reuters called the summit “light on substance” and drew attention to Trump’s promise to end the South Korean war games (a longtime Pyongyang goal) without securing a concrete denuclearization deal. –Hugo Guzman
