I have been seeing a relationship trend on Twitter that is shared by many young men in their teens and twenties.

The topic they are tweeting about is “Relationships” and the frustration many of these young men are facing is very well summarised in this tweet:
“Relationships are harder now because conversations become texting, arguments become phone calls, and feelings become status updates.”
This is new ground for relationships in the 21st century. Social media is impacting the way we negotiate our intimate bonds.

Great Points on the positive aspects.
However, I think part of the negative sentiment is coming from times when relationship problems are made public knowledge.
I don’t think it should be a problem so long as both parties in the relationship are open and agreeable about the channels of communications they would agree to use, and–most of all, of course–that both parties agree to communicate as openly and as lovingly as necessary. It’s like, for example you can be in a long-distance relationship where your most intimate conversations happen over Skype or other forms of live video call, and obviously we can’t be on Skype calls all the time so circumstances dictate that we’re going to use Social Media and texting at least occasionally as… Read more »
