Three special topics. We want to hear from you.
You might be seeing this under the Gender & Sexuality section, but we’re doing something a little different.
We really want to hear from gay, bi, and other other-than-straight-identified men and trans*men.
But we also want to hear from the people who care about them.
Fathers of trans*kids/trans*adults: We hear from a lot of moms, but not too many dads. Tell us about your relationship with your trans*child, young or old. We understand that this can be an emotional topic, and while we are a hate-free zone, we know that sometimes the hard times come before the good ones, so let’s talk.
If I could do it again…: This is your prompt. Is it coming out? Living your 20s or 30s or 50s? Reacting to the news that a sergeant you work with is gay? Bullying that kid in high school? If you could have a do-over for a part of parts of your life, what would you do differently? And yes. not making that Christmas card of you and your husband in the matching Hawaiian shirts counts.
What matters to me: Some people spend their spare time as public activists for chosen causes. Others educate just by living as they do every day. What fires you up? What causes matter to you? Whether you devote hours or minutes to them, what are the things you think need attention to make our lives – and the world – better?
Send your submissions, pitches, video submissions, and/or photo essays to [email protected]. We can’t guarantee we’ll publish it, but if you don’t submit, we can guarantee we won’t. Submission guidelines are here, but in a nutshell, no racist/sexist/homophobic/hate language, no explicit sexual content, no images you don’t have the rights to publish. Previously published work is fine as long as you still have the rights to publish it (please include credits and link to original publication). And please, take a few minutes to proofread and spell-check. We appreciate the extra effort.
Ongoing Calls for Submissions:
