Today I taught the oldest kids how to ride their bike with no training wheels. I had fun but I picked up some gems during our time together. It’s funny, as I was adding subtitles to this video I was listening to how I was encouraging them and there were so many life lessons that can apply to anything not just riding a bike. You’ll hear me say things like, “You gotta look where you’re going not just in front of you,” and “I can’t hold on forever.” I know that this won’t be the last time I use these phrases but it sure impacted me in how the Father communicates to us. A lot of our early faith is like learning how to ride a bike. We are scared, we don’t know much about balance, and we want to go fast without falling, we know that we will fall but are shocked when we do. I am glad that our Heavenly Father is the one that has his hands on us, that he is the one pushing forward, the one releasing us and the one that helps us up when we fall.
