Daily Mo Update
As the Mo fills in it gets softer and softer. Still a little too prickly for my ladies, but getting better nonetheless. I had a realization a while ago about the relationship between my whole family and facial hair. It seems everybody in my family, minus my one brother, is capable of a solid beard. It does, however, take a lot of time and patience.
Movember Awareness
While we focus on Mens Health and how you can help others, it’s also important to keep in mind you own health as well! When was the last time you had a checkup? Did somebody in your family have an illness that can be genetic? Not as many people consider family history as much as they should. Don’t be shy and ask questions. Things like heart disease especially can be taken care of early on if you know the signs and know your family is susceptible to it!

Daily Mo Update
Woah. Slow Mo. I’m gonna need three months…
Movember Awareness
To those of you still resisting getting help with your issues: “don’t let fear scare you. Feel the fear and do it anyway. Fear is often false evidence appearing real.” What’re you afraid of, looking like a wimp? Allowing someone else to see the real you? Disappointing someone? Get the help you need. Most reasons to avoid help that you can come up with don’t actually matter, and ones like “they’ll tease me” can be countered with a “you don’t need them in your life, then”. The same can be said about just overcoming whatever mental issues ail you, with or without help.

Daily Mo Update
I took a personal day today. I had a difficult time shutting down my brain last night and slept poorly, only to wake this morning with a migraine that could have split the Pacific plate. I slept in until it subsided and am now enjoying some quiet time to recuperate and work on my paperwork for my Master’s application. If all goes according to plan, I should be an official student again in time for Christmas! What more could I ask for this year than to be working towards my future? OH! And the mo is rockin’ on.
Movember Awareness
Besides depression, I have other medical issues that run in my family. Because of our height, there is a history of bad backs, bad knees, and other joint issues. There is also a history of GI issues as well as heart issues. Luckily, I seem to have escaped healthy for the most part. All of my issues are from taking poor care of myself over the years. My advice? Start taking care of yourself now. Eat healthy. Sleep enough. Brush your teeth. Stretch. Workout. It’s movember, so get out and Move!

Daily Mo Update
Today I finished my last class for my Associate’s degree. I should have done it 14 or so years ago, but that wasn’t my reality. I also learned I’ll have an opportunity to help my community through a council position I was voted to. Formal civic engagement has been a goal of mine for a few years. I enjoy working to make things better. The world needs men who are willing to risk being fully alive.
